The standard Real Estate Commission in S.C. is 6% – 3% going to the Seller’s agent and 3% to the Buyer’s agent.

As a seller of, let’s say, a $500,000 home, instead of paying the 3% or $15,000 to HouseMax, you are only charged 2% ($10,000) at closing, saving you $5,000. All this while still getting all the services (and more) you’d expect from a real estate firm.

A side indicates which side of the real estate transaction you are on – the Buyer or the Seller. HouseMax Charleston works hard for our clients on both sides!

The Buyer doesn’t pay directly, but the price of commission for the Buyer’s agent (usually 3%) is built into the price of the home.

8. A lower commission rate of only 2%.
